A Wedding at Bukolt Park, Stevens Point

The bride and groom met on their very first day at UW-Stevens Point, two soon-to-be music teachers who had no idea that a chance introduction on campus would eventually lead them right back to Stevens Point for their wedding day. Years later, they said "I do" at Bukolt Park, surrounded by the Wisconsin River, family, friends, and music!
Two First Looks (One Sweet, One Sneaky)
Before the ceremony, the bride had not one but two first looks. The first was a tender moment with her dad, seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time, a quiet, emotional beat before the day got underway.
The second first look was a little less traditional. Instead of the groom seeing his bride for the first time before walking down the aisle, one of the groomsmen decided to have a little fun with the moment. He slipped into the bride's wedding dress and struck a pose, letting the groom get the surprise of a lifetime before the real first look happened. It was the kind of prank that had the whole wedding party laughing all day and gave the couple (and us!) a story they'll be telling for years.
Handmade, Heartfelt Details
Scattered throughout the venue were DIY decorations the couple had clearly poured time and love into, thoughtful, personal touches that made Bukolt Park feel like it was made just for them. From handmade signage to custom centerpieces, every detail reflected their personalities and their story, proving that some of the most beautiful weddings are the ones built with your own two hands.
Sunset on the River
With the ceremony and reception set against the Wisconsin River, the couple made time for a quiet moment away from the celebration: a sunset canoe ride. It was a peaceful little escape in the middle of a big day, and one of the most memorable parts of the whole celebration.
A Day as Unique as Their Story
From a first-day-of-college meeting to a first look with a twist, a golden-hour canoe ride, and music woven through every part of the celebration, this Bukolt Park wedding was a perfect reflection of who this couple is — creative, playful, and deeply connected to the place where their story began.
Bukolt Park continues to be one of our favorite Stevens Point wedding venues, the river views, the mature trees, and the open green space make it a beautiful backdrop for couples who want a natural, laid-back setting with room for personal touches like live music and DIY decor.
